Tips on Creating Successful Content

Creating outstanding marketing content is crucial for every business these days. With so much of that content out there though, not every piece is successful –  some are average and some can even be a complete failure. If a post underperforms, most forget about it and move onto creating the next article, but an unsuccessful post can be an opportunity to learn what you did wrong so you can prepare a more effective content for your audience in the future.

You should always remember that if your content doesn’t get much attention that there may be lots of other reasons rather than it’s bad. It could mean that you posted it at the wrong time or didn’t promote it through the right channels, or the format it was written in was wrong.

Here are some tips to ensure your content is successful

Repurpose Your Content

If you have some old content that didn’t generate much interest, try taking info from that and converting it into a colourful infographic. Readers love engaging content with an easier layout. With great content already existing, all you need to do is re-work it saving time researching and writing again.

Make It Easy to Share

Make sure it’s easy to share your content. Include bright, visible social sharing buttons directly beneath the post or if possible, in your sidebar.

Post Content at Ideal Times for Your Target Audience

Analyse and understand when your target market spends time on various social media platforms and post it during those times to make sure you reach them as best as you can.

Survey Your Audience

Ask your customers what they actually like reading and receiving from you. Use surveys for that and offer something free to motivate their responses. Get to know your “Buying Persona”.

Connect with Influencers

Building relationships with influencers in your industry can be super beneficial. Share their content and reply to their content and you may get them promoting your content back.

Consider Facebook Ads

If you put time and effort into creating content, you should always look for ways of maximising your efforts. Try boosting posts or creating a Facebook campaign to engage with your audience that way. The advantage is you can then analyze your social media engagement data and understand your audience and what they like better going forward.
